— A Rare Early Form, Straight from the 1950s — This is the early flat-bottom D-handle mug — one of the most sought-after forms among Fire-King collectors. Produced from the 1950s onward, its completely flat base earned it the name "Flat Bottom Mug," distinguishing it from the later D-handle mugs that followed. Compared to later production, this early form carries a noticeably heavier, more substantial feel — and is supremely comfortable to hold.

Crucially, this tall shaving mug form was only ever produced in two colours: Ivory and Jadeite. It was never made in Turquoise Blue or Milk White, making it an exclusively early-era piece. This particular example is slightly taller than a standard shaving mug, with a larger capacity — a rare early variant in deep ivory with an early GLASS backstamp.
