Founded in Meiji 43 (1910), Kotodo Takahashi Seisakusho has spent over a century crafting tea canisters in their Tokyo workshop — each one shaped by skilled artisans using techniques refined across four generations.

The 4th-generation president, Takahashi Akinori, upholds a simple but unwavering philosophy:

Every Kotodo canister is made from lead-free tin, offering exceptional light-blocking, airtight, and odour-resistant properties. An inner lid further stabilises humidity and air levels, while each lid is hand-adjusted by artisans to ensure a smooth, precise close that gently expels excess air.

The Sakurakawa canister is wrapped in natural mountain cherry bark, crafted using the traditional Akita Kakunodate technique of kabazaiku (樺細工) — a heritage craft historically practised by lower-ranking samurai as a source of livelihood. The bark is polished to a smooth, even finish before being applied to the tin body. Kotodo has adapted this centuries-old tradition for modern daily use. As natural wood is used, each canister's colour and grain will vary slightly — making every piece uniquely your own.

每個江東堂茶葉罐以無鉛錫製造，具高度遮光性、氣密度與隔味功能。罐內中蓋令氣度與濕度更穩定，每個蓋子均經工匠微調，確保順暢閉合並排出多餘空氣。

桜皮缶以秋田角館傳統工藝「樺細工」製作，以打磨均勻的天然山櫻樹皮貼於錫罐之上，傳統上為下級武士的專長與收入來源。江東堂將此傳統技術應用於現代錫罐，令產品更適合日常生活使用。由於使用天然木材，每個罐的顏色與紋理均有所不同。
